TANCET Result 2024: Normalisation of Marks
The TANCET exam is conducted for MBA and MCA programs. There is usually no requirement for normalization of digits as the entrance test is conducted in the same shift. Those who have taken the entrance exam for me/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ Plan Courses will have to face the generalization of the score for the first two parts of the exam.
The question paper of Tamil Naidu Common Entrance Test is divided into three parts –
- Part I (Engineering Mathematics),
- Part II (Basic Engineering and Science) and
- Part III (for different subjects).
Part I and II are common for all programs, while Part III differs depending on the person’s course. As a result, the standard deviation along the mean mark varies according to the subjects in Part III. To bring uniformity to these variations, the scar is normalized.
The formula for normalization of marks:
Normalized Marks = 40 + (10/Standard Deviation) X (Raw marks – Mean marks)
